As August draws to a close, the OHL preseason is fast approaching!
Teams across the league are gearing up for the weeks ahead, with training camps set to kick off as early as this weekend. Here’s a brief overview of what to expect across the OHL as teams prepare for the 2026-27 season. Additional details, including training camp rosters, will be shared as they become available.
Barrie Colts:
The Barrie Colts will open training camp on Monday, August 24, at Sadlon Arena with fitness testing before shifting to intrasquad games on Tuesday, August 25, and Wednesday, August 26. The week continues with the annual Blue vs. White scrimmage on Thursday at 6:00 p.m., with free admission.
Training camp will conclude with the Barrie Showcase on Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30. The Colts will host the two-day preseason event at Sadlon Arena, featuring four OHL clubs: Barrie, the Owen Sound Attack, the Oshawa Generals, and the Brantford Bulldogs. Tickets for the showcase are $10 and will be available at the door.
Brampton Steelheads:
The Brampton Steelheads will hold training camp at the CAA Centre from Tuesday, August 25, through Thursday, August 27. Fans are invited to attend Blue vs. White scrimmages throughout the week, running from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on the MAC hockey rink at the CAA Centre.
Brantford Bulldogs:
The Brantford Bulldogs will open training camp on Monday, August 24, at the TD Civic Centre, with 62 players reporting for fitness testing and on-ice drills. Players will be divided into four teams for a series of scrimmages on Tuesday and Wednesday as they compete for a spot in the annual Black & Gold Game. Camp concludes with the Black & Gold Game on Thursday, August 27, at 1:00 p.m., which will be open to the public.
Erie Otters:
The Erie Otters will open training camp on Saturday, August 22, with intrasquad scrimmages at Erie Insurance Arena that afternoon. Camp continues with additional public scrimmages and practices from Sunday, August 23, through Tuesday, August 25.
Fans attending camp are encouraged to participate in the Otters’ “School Supply Drive,” held in collaboration with the Brighter Future Foundation to help local students prepare for the upcoming school year.
Flint Firebirds:
The Flint Firebirds will hold training camp from Tuesday, August 25, through Friday, August 28, at Flint Iceland Arena. Camp opens with the prospect game at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, followed by seven intrasquad games throughout the remainder of the week. All games are open to the public.
Guelph Storm:
The Guelph Storm will open training camp at the Sleeman Centre on Monday, August 24, with on-ice sessions running through Saturday, August 29. Sessions throughout camp will be open to the public.
Kingston Frontenacs:
The Kingston Frontenacs will hold training camp at Slush Puppie Place from Wednesday, August 26, through Friday, August 28. While Wednesday’s scrimmages will be closed to the public, fans are invited to attend intrasquad games on Thursday and Friday.
Kitchener Rangers:
The 2026 Memorial Cup champion Kitchener Rangers will hold training camp at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium from Tuesday, August 25, through Thursday, August 27. Players will undergo preseason off-ice performance testing throughout camp, with those sessions closed to the public.
The roster will be divided into Team Blue and Team White for a three-game intrasquad series, with all three games open to the public free of charge.
London Knights:
The London Knights will hold training camp at Canada Life Place from Monday, August 24, through Wednesday, August 26. While scrimmages on Monday and Tuesday will be closed to the public, fans are invited to attend the annual Green and Gold Game on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., with free admission.
Niagara IceDogs:
The Niagara IceDogs will open Rookie Camp on Monday, August 24, with more than 40 players competing for an opportunity to advance to Main Camp. Fans are invited to attend scrimmages throughout the week as the IceDogs transition from Rookie Camp into Main Camp, which runs from Thursday, August 27, through Friday, August 28.
North Bay Battalion:
The North Bay Battalion will hold development camp from Monday, August 24, through Wednesday, August 26, with scrimmages scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. Main camp begins Wednesday and runs through Friday, August 28, with additional scrimmages on Thursday and Friday. All scrimmages are open to the public and free to attend.
Oshawa Generals:
The Oshawa Generals will hold training camp at the Tribute Communities Centre from Monday, August 24, through Thursday, August 27. All on-ice scrimmages will be open to the public and free to attend.
Ottawa 67’s:
Ottawa 67’s players will report to TD Place on Wednesday, August 26, for medical and fitness testing before on-ice activities begin on Thursday, August 27. Training camp will feature two days of intrasquad action, including scrimmages and a 3-on-3 tournament. All sessions will be open to fans and media free of charge.
Owen Sound Attack:
The Owen Sound Attack will open camp on Saturday, August 22, at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. The first two days will feature rookie practices and scrimmages before Main Camp gets underway on Monday, August 24.
The Attack will also host a new BBQ event during development camp on Saturday, August 22, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to meet members of the organization, including prospects and current players, and hear from the club’s new Hockey Operations staff.
Peterborough Petes:
The Peterborough Petes will hold Rookie Camp from Monday, August 24, through Tuesday, August 25, featuring three scrimmage games. Main Camp follows from Wednesday, August 26, through Thursday, August 27, with three additional scrimmages. All games will take place on the Sign-A-Fied pad at Healthy Planet Arena and will be open to the public.
Saginaw Spirit:
The Saginaw Spirit will hold training camp from Monday, August 24, through Wednesday, August 26, at the Saginaw Bay Ice Arena. All scrimmages, practices and on-ice sessions will be open to the public free of charge.
Sarnia Sting:
The Sarnia Sting will open training camp with on-ice sessions on Tuesday, August 25, followed by a series of intrasquad games on Wednesday, August 26, and Thursday, August 27. Camp concludes with the annual Black vs. White Game in support of the United Way of Sarnia-Lambton on Friday, August 28, at 6:00 p.m.
Soo Greyhounds:
The Soo Greyhounds will hold training camp from Monday, August 24, through Friday, August 28, at GFL Memorial Gardens. Development Camp will take place on Monday and Tuesday, featuring 48 draft picks and free-agent invites competing for a spot in Main Training Camp, which runs from Wednesday through Friday.
All scrimmages, practices and on-ice sessions are open to the public free of charge, with the exception of the Luke Williams Memorial Red & White Game on Friday, August 28, at 7:07 p.m.
Sudbury Wolves:
The Sudbury Wolves will hold training camp from Tuesday, August 25, through Friday, August 28, at the Sudbury Community Arena. All scrimmages, practices and on-ice sessions are open to the public free of charge, including the annual Blue vs. White Game on Friday at 12:00 p.m.
Windsor Spitfires:
The Windsor Spitfires will hold training camp from Thursday, August 27, through Saturday, August 29, at the WFCU Centre. All scrimmages, practices and on-ice sessions will be open to the public free of charge, including the annual Team White vs. Team Blue game on Saturday at 5:10 p.m.
