USPHL Premier Players Of The Month – November 2022: Mid-Atlantic Division

Forwards

Mathias Rakell, New York Aviators

Rakell (‘02/Stockholm, Sweden) scored at an incredible pace for the New York Aviators in November. The second year USPHL forward posted 30 points (10g-20a) in 10 games for the Aviators, averaging three points per game. Rakell is 10th in the league in points per game at 2.38. He leads the Mid-Atlantic Division in points and assists this season. During November, Rakell went on an eight-game, multi-point streak that featured three hat tricks.

 

Max Granlund Wennerberg, New York Aviators

Wennerberg (‘02/Södertälje, Sweden) has been key piece to the Aviators success in November, as the team finished the month with a perfect 10-0 record. He posted 17 points in 10 games over the month. The rookie started the month on an eight-game point streak. Wennerberg registered 11 goals and six assists during November.

 

Yakov Yakzhin, Rockets Hockey Club

Yakzhin (‘03/Miami, Fla.) and the Rockets Hockey Club played just five games in November, but that didn’t stop Yakzhin from posting some impressive stats. He registered four goals and five assists for nine points and a 1.8 points per game average. The four-year veteran has played in 100 Premier games and has 92 career points.

 

Defensemen

Hunter Scanlon, New York Aviators

Scanlon has played well on both sides of the ice this season. The ’03 blueliner posted 16 points in nine games in November. Scanlon netted 10 goals and six assists from the blue line last month while also posting a +15 and registering 18 hits. He currently is fifth on the team in scoring and leads all Aviators defensemen in points.

 

Carter Rugg, Connecticut Jr. Rangers

Rugg (‘03/Hingham, Ma.) is having quite the first year in the USPHL. He currently ranks fifth on the team in points with 17. Rugg posted eight points (goal, seven assists) in just five games during the month  of November. He also registered a +8 during the month, one of the best ratings in the division last month. 

 

Goaltender

Michael Marino, New York Aviators 

Marino (‘02/Staten Island, N.Y.) was a large part of the Aviators’ November dominance. The third-year netminder was 4-0 with a shutout during November. He ended the month with 2.25 goals against average and a .957 save percentage. Marino is 8-1 on the season and only has 10 losses in his 44 games played in the USPHL Premier.
