Florida Division
Forward: Michal Novak, Atlanta MadHatters
The MadHatters went 2-0-1 in a three-game series against the Bold City Battalion, improving by five points while holding the higher-ranked Battalion to three points. Novak (‘03/Praha, Czechia) registered an assist in Game 2 and a 2-2-4 line in Game 3, including the overtime game-winner. The second-year Premier veteran’s five points in three games improved his overall total to 10 points in 10 games.
Defense: Hugo Rova, Bold City Battalion
Rova (‘03/Sweden) had a big weekend by posting four goals and adding one assist – including a 2-1-3 line on Oct. 15 – over the three-game series against the Atlanta MadHatters. He has earned 12 points in 10 games in this, his first North American season.
Goaltender: Tobias Bell, Florida Eels
Bell’s second career shutout is what helped the Eels win their second Florida Cup championship at the Premier level. The ‘03 from Summit, N.J., made 24 saves to blank the Juniors and keep the door open for the Eels offense to score five goals in the 5-0 win. Overall, Bell is 4-1 with a .917 save percentage.
Southeast Division
Forward: Nolan Bolt, Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
Bolt (‘04/Boise, Idaho) is a career Jr. Hurricane – going back to his Midget days – who is lately playing a big part in helping the Jr. Hurricanes to a 9-4-0-0 record so far this season. His goal and two assists for three points in a 5-1 win over Columbia helped push the team to a 3-0 winning streak and a 4-1 monthly record through the first 16 days of October. He currently has eight points in 12 games.
Defense: Peter Keese, Charlotte Rush
Keese (‘03/Minnetonka, Minn.) played a big part in the Rush sweeping the host Hampton Roads Whalers, registering four assists in the two games and playing roughly 26 minutes on average in both while blocking two shots. He has a 1-14-15 line on the season, and his 14 assists rank among the top 10 in the league overall and second among blueliners.
Goaltender: Martin Lukes, Potomac Patriots
For a fourth straight game, Lukes has not given up any more than two goals in his first North American season. The ‘03 from Czechia stopped 29 of 31 shots from the Richmond Generals to give the Patriots their seventh victory in a row. He is 3-0-1-0 with a 1.73 GAA and .933 save percentage.
