NCDC 2023-24 Mountain Division Players Of The Month: November 2023

Summaries By Joshua Boyd / NCDCHockey.com

Forward: Parker Osborn, Ogden Mustangs

A hugely electrifying junior rookie, Osborn (‘05/Mount, Minn.) was Captain for Holy Family Catholic High School in Minnesota, and made an easy jump to the Tier II level by posting 31 points in 18 games so far. He registered nine goals and nine assists for 18 points in just eight games in November, leading all NCDC players in scoring for the month. He was a true sniper, scoring those nine goals on 28 shots for a 32.1 shooting percentage. He was also the Mustangs’ top choice for forward on the power play, leading the team’s forwards with 32:32 of total power play time.

Forward: Dimitri Voyatzis, Ogden Mustangs

Voyatzis (‘03/Fountain Valley, Calif.) continues to be a heart and soul player for the Mustangs, as he is now in his third season with the team and made the jump with them from the USPHL Premier to the NCDC, with massive success. Voyatzis posted four goals and eight assists for 12 points in eight games of November. He closed a 16-game scoring streak, but posted eight of his 12 points for the month within that streak. His 18:35 average of ice time per game led all Mustangs forwards.

Forward: William Johnson, Pueblo Bulls

In a rough-and-tumble, constantly changing Mountain landscape, Johnson helped the Bulls remain in contention to make a move for the top in the next two thirds of the season. The 2004-born Edina, Minn., native is in his second Tier II season and showed his veteran poise by posting 10 goals and adding three assists in nine games. He fired 21 shots on goal to give him an outstanding 42.8 shooting percentage. He was also a +2 for the Bulls, for whom he has scored 12 goals and 19 points in 15 games.

Defense: D.J. MacLeish, Idaho Falls Spud Kings

MacLeish (‘05/Troy, Mich.) put up a fantastic run of 10 points over his seven games of November, which included a run of eight points in his last five games of the month. He’ll carry that streak into December. He registered three game-winning goals including an OT winner against Pueblo on Nov. 25, which puts him at four and good for second overall in the league in that category. He also blocked 19 shots, good for second on the team.

Defense: Matteo Mitrovic, Idaho Falls Spud Kings

Mitrovic (‘03/Graz, Austria) was another who helped the Spud Kings go 6-2-0-0 during the month and improve to being within five points of second place in the tightly contested Mountain Division. Mitrovic, a USPHL Premier Mountain Division All-Star last year, posted two goals and five assists for seven points in eight games. He led the way for Idaho Falls with 104 takeaways and 22 blocked shots, and he also was on the ice the most, averaging an eye-popping 32:58 per game on average.

Goaltender: Philip Rondina, Utah Outliers

Welcome to the NCDC, Philip. November was his first month in the league, but he came in with two prior years of Tier II experience in Canada. The ‘03 from Pierrefonds, Que., stopped all but four out of 130 shots for a .969 save percentage so far. He also registered two shutouts along the way, stopping all 33 faced from Provo in his debut on Nov. 11, and then he knocked away all 27 shots faced from Ogden on Nov. 18. He stands at 4-1-0-0 right now.

Selection Process: The league media office sends top candidates to divisional coaches for review and coaches either approve or challenge the nominations.
