USPHL Elite 2023-24 South Region Players Of The Week

Southeast Division

Forward: Ilya Biesiedin, Potomac Patriots

Biesiedin (‘05/Kharkov, Ukraine) was extremely significant for his team in their two wins last weekend, putting up three goals and three assists, including game-winning goals in both games and one shorthanded goal. Biesiedin continues to move between the Premier and Elite, and has 20 points in 14 Elite games and four points in 11 Premier contests. 

Defense: Kirill Golubev, Potomac Patriots 

Golubev, the star ‘07 out of Kostroma, Russia, was the division’s leading scorer with a 3-4-7 line in their Dec. 2-3 weekend sweep. Joining the Patriots this year out of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl 16U program, Golubev has been outstanding with a 12-24-36 line while helping Potomac allow under three goals per game. 

Goaltender: Ashton Goble, Charlotte Rush

Goble (‘04/Colorado Springs, Colo.) put up 34 saves on 35 shots to defeat the Hampton Roads Whalers on Dec. 2, part of a two-game sweep lsat weekend. He currently stands at 2-2-0-0 on the season. 

Florida Division 

Forward: Cooper Lundberg, Atlanta MadHatters

Lundberg (‘05/Atlanta, Ga.) put up two goals and six assists for eight points in the team’s three-game series last weekend against the Florida Jr. Blades, a sweep for Atlanta. Lundberg, who had 58 points last year, is on a similar pace with 18 points in his first 14 games of this season. 

Defense: Sean Burke, Florida Eels

Burke (‘03/Wellesley, Mass.) posted seven assists when the Eels defeated the Bold City Battalion over three games. Burke was also a +8 on the weekend and registered a hit. Over two seasons, Burke has 41 points in 54 Elite games and he’s played in eight Premier games as well this year.  

Goaltender: Jackson Bernier, Atlanta MadHatters

Bernier (‘03/Belfast, Maine) put up a 21-save shutout for the MadHatters during their three-game sweep of the Florida Jr. Blades last weekend. He is 6-3-1-0 with a .964 save percentage this year, and he’s 13-12-1-0 overall with a .911 career mark.
