Florida Division 

Forward: Jacob Duhaime, Bold City Battalion 

The fourth-year USPHL veteran, in his second season in the Premier, had a monstrous two games against the Palm Beach Typhoon. He scored three goals and three assists spread evenly over the two games and had the shootout-winner in a wild 8-7 track meet on Dec. 7. He had a +5 rating over the weekend and won 32 faceoffs for a 70 percent success rate in the circle. He has 32 points in 22 games with the first-year Battalion. 

 

Defense: Nick Oliverio, Tampa Bay Juniors 

Oliverio, an ‘03 from nearby Brandon, Fla., put together a big weekend against the Florida Jr. Blades. Along with a goal and three assists in the two games, he also led his team in ice time with 21:27, and he also had two hits and two blocked shots. He was also one of six players with a team-leading +2. He has 10 points in 14 games in this, his second USPHL Premier season. 

 

Goaltender: Savva Serdiuk, Tampa Bay Juniors  

The third-year Premier veteran, an ‘04 from Kyiv, Ukraine, put up a 29-save shutout against the Florida Jr. Blades. He has two shutouts in his last four games. Overall, he is 7-5-0-0 on the season, and 19-11-2-1 for his career. 

 

Southeast Division 

Forward: Evan Miles, Hampton Roads Whalers

Miles (‘03/Mesquite, Texas) is in his fifth season of USPHL hockey and fourth in the Whalers organization. Recently, he put up three goals and added two assists for five points for his team against the Columbia Infantry. He also put up nine hits and was a +4 over the weekend. Miles, the Whalers’ Co-Captain, now has 22 points in 24 games this season. 

 

Defense: John Rangel, Hampton Roads Whalers

Another Co-Captain for the Whalers, Rangel (‘03/Corona, Calif.) was another showing his veteran leadership for the Whalers in his third season with the Premier team. Not only did he produce two goals and two assists for four points, he also led his team in average ice time (22:05) and plus-minus (+5). Rangel now has 64 points in 104 career games. 

 

Goaltender: Devin Stephens, Charlotte Rush

Stephens (‘03/Trenton, Mich.) is a third-year Premier and NCDC goalie, and he helped the Rush come out with a win against Potomac, going 1-1 on the weekend. He made 68 saves on 71 shots, for a .958 save percentage, the highlight being a 41-save shutout on Dec. 9. Stephens, who just rejoined the Rush in late November, is 11-2-0-1 for his Charlotte career with a 1.28 GAA and .955 save percentage.
