NCDC 2023-24 Mountain Division Players Of The Week

Week of Jan. 24, 2024

Games of Jan. 17-23, 2024

Summaries By Joshua Boyd / NCDCHockey.com

Forward: Parker Osborn, Ogden Mustangs

One of the goal leaders for the entire NCDC is also one of the league’s top rookies this year. Osborn (‘05/Mound, Minn.) scored three goals and added three assists in two games to push himself to 25 goals on the season. That is tied with Utah’s David Utkin for the overall NCDC goals lead. For the wins against Idaho Falls and Utah, he was the team’s plus-minus leader, as well, with a +5.

Defense: Lucas Rauner, Rock Springs Grizzlies

Rauner (‘05/Cloquet, Minn.) picked up his first NCDC goal and added three assists for four points during the team’s two games against Provo Predators, helping the Grizzlies to split against the Predators. Rauner was a co-leader for the team this past weekend with a +2 rating, and improved to seven points in 16 games this year.

Goaltender: Michael Polston, Provo Predators

Coming out of the Honeybaked AAA program, Polston (‘04/Cedarburg, Wis.) continues to be one of the NCDC’s hardest-working and most successful goalies. Recently, he notched his 14th victory when he stopped 31 of 32 shots to defeat the Rock Springs Grizzlies. He is enjoying a six-game winning streak going back to Dec. 14, his first game at the NCDC Frozen Futures Showcase in Idaho Falls. Polston stands at 14-3-0-1 with a .926 save percentage.

Rookie*: Ryan Roethke, Provo Predators

Roethke (‘04/Buffalo, Minn.) registered a pair of goals and also added two assists for the Predators in their split against Rock Springs last weekend. This included the GWG in the 4-1 victory on Jan. 19, his second game-winner in as many weekends. Roethke improved to 21 points in 24 games for the season.

* = ’04 or younger / 10 Tier II games or less in prior seasons
