USPHL Elite Players Of The Week: South Region

Games of Oct. 15-21

 

Forward: Stephan Tebo, Potomac Patriots 

Tebo (‘07/Bristow, Va.) came out of the USPHL Jersey Hitmen Classic with a line of three goals and five assists for eight points in the Pats’ four games at the event. These were the first eight of his points for the season over six games played. 

 

Defense: Cooper Thomas, Carolina Jr. Hurricanes 

Thomas (‘07/Apex, N.C.) was a top performer for the Jr. Hurricanes at the Hitmen Classic on the blue line, scoring a goal and adding two assists through their first three games at the event. For the season, he has 10 points in 14 games. 

 

Goaltender: Janic Kennedy, Hampton Roads Whalers

The second-year Whaler Kennedy (‘04/Mission Viejo, Calif.) went 2-0 at the Hitmen Classic, stopping 46 of the 47 shots he faced at the event, including an 18-save shutout against the Connecticut Jr. Rangers. He is currently 6-3-0-0 on the season with a .934 save percentage. 

 

Florida Division 

Forward: Owen Vachon, Tampa Bay Juniors 

Vachon (‘08/Land O’ Lakes, Fla.) scored five points – including four points in the Florida Cup Elite Championship Game on Oct. 20 – to improve to eight points in nine games this season, his second with the Juniors. 

 

Defense: Steven Eberhardt, Bold City Battalion 

Eberhardt (‘07/Seaford, N.Y.) put up a goal and an assist in the Battalion’s only game of the week, getting in on both points for the Battalion in the game. The second-year Battalion blueliner improved to six points in six games so far this year. 

 

Goaltender: Blake Moore, Florida Jr. Blades

Moore (‘06/Harker Heights, Texas) played in three games over the past week for the Jr. Blades and was dynamite, even if he didn’t get the wins he hoped in each. He went 1-2 while stopping 130 of 138 shots for a .942 save percentage, seeing more than 40 shots in each of the three games, including two at the Florida Cup in-season tournament. 

Selection Process: Divisional statistical leaders are presented to coaches, who are able to nominate and vote on alternate candidates.
