USPHL Premier Players Of The Week: Midwestern Region

Midwest Division 

Forward: Peter White, Chicago Crush

White (‘04/Rockford, Ill.) scored four goals and two assists for six points over just two games, including his first career hat trick on Nov. 16 against the Dells Ducks. He has already bypassed his 2023-24 point total by posting 14 points this year. He has 27 points in 39 career games with the Crush. He has an active scoring streak that has seen him put up eight points over his last three games. 

 

Defense: Isaac Bunk, Motor City Gamblers 

Bunk (‘06/Leonard, Mich.) repeats in this position again after putting up a career-best three-point game on Nov. 17 against the Decatur Blaze. He currently has seven points in 13 games, already equaling his 2023-24 points total. 

 

Goaltender: Galvin Reagan, Motor City Gamblers 

Reagan (‘05/Grand Haven, Mich.) put up 40 saves on 42 shots as he picked up a victory against the Decatur Blaze on Nov. 17. This was his first win for this season as well as his first Gamblers victory. He is 1-2-0-1 this year with a strong .936 save percentage. 

 

Great Lakes Division

Forward: Giovanni Valentine, Columbus Mavericks

Valentine (‘06/Newcastle, Pa.) scored back-to-back hat tricks on Nov. 15-16 against the Fresh Coast Freeze, improving to 10 goals and 13 points in 10 games this year. His hat trick on Nov. 15 included his first career game-winning goal. He also added two assists in the series against Fresh Coast for eight points in three games. 

 

Defense: Sam Gonyaw, Columbus Mavericks

Gonyaw (‘04/Charleston, Vt.) put up three assists during the Mavericks’ three games played between Nov. 15-17. He previously played in the USPHL Premier in 2021-22, and rejoins the league after playing in the EHL Premier last year. He has four points in 15 games. 

 

Goaltender: Caleb Kril, Toledo Cherokee

Kril (‘04/Dexter, Mich.) stopped all 61 shots that he faced against the Red River Spartans on Nov. 15 and the Cincinnati Jr. Cyclones on Nov. 16 for two straight shutouts – also the first two of his two-year Premier career. He remains undefeated at 7-0 with a .949 save percentage this year, and for his career, he sports an 18-5-2-0 record. 

 

North Division

Forward: Peyton Inks, Steele County Blades

Between Nov. 15-17, Inks (‘04/Topeka, Kan.) put up four goals and four assists over three games for an eight-point run for the Blades, who went 2-1 between those three games against the Northwest Express and Isanti Outlaws. He now has 22 points in 16 games and 61 points in an even 100 Premier regular season games played, all with Steele County. 

 

Defense: Connor Corcoran, Northwest Express

An eight-point run for Corcoran (‘05/Haverhill, Mass.) put him in the top spot as the league’s leading scorer among defensemen with 34 points in 21 games. He put up a 2-6-8 line in the Express’ two games against Steele County and one against the Minnesota Blue Ox. 

 

Goaltender: Pearse Mayrose, Minnesota Blue Ox 

Mayrose (‘05/Minnetonka, Minn.) stopped 33 of 34 shots for his fourth straight win and a .971 save percentage for the Nov. 15 win against Hudson, improving to 4-2-0-0 on the season.

Selection Process: Divisional statistical leaders are presented to coaches, who are able to vote on the leaders, or nominate and vote on alternate candidates.
