USPHL Premier Players Of The Week: Florida, Southeast and Northwest Divisions

Games played Jan. 1-6

Florida Division 

Forward: Sebastian Kaminsky, Atlanta Mad Hatters

Kaminsky (‘06/Kennesaw, Ga.) registered four goals and eight assists to start off the new year. In his first season with the Atlanta Mad Hatters, he has 38 points (13 goals; 25 assists) across 32 games played. He is the team’s points leader this season. He earned an NCDC call-up to the West Chester Wolves for their game on Jan. 9. 

 

Defense: Jonas Oesterle, Florida Jr. Blades 

Oesterle (‘04) added seven points to his scorecard over four games with the Florida Jr. Blades last week. As the blueliner preps for the 2025 All-Star Game, he continues to add to his career tally of 30 points after achieving a milestone 50th career game played on Jan. 5.

 

Goaltender: Richard Popson, Florida Jr. Blades 

Popson (‘05/Bridgewater, Mass.) garnered a solid .960 save percentage after winning his game with 24 saves on 25 shots on Jan. 3. In his first Premier season, the Florida Jr. Blades goaltender is 3-7-0-0 with a .916 save percentage. 

 

Southeast

Forward: Hayden Barr, Hampton Roads Whalers 

Barr (‘04/Edmonton, Alberta) garnered 12 points in six games to kick off 2025, adding to his season tally of 37. In his first Premier season with the Hampton Roads Whalers, he’s on a 10-game win streak that began on Dec. 7. He has 21 goals and 16 assists over 30 games played.

 

Defense: Marshall Beaker, Charlotte Rush 

Beaker (‘04/) posted six points (two goals; four assists) in four games played for Charlotte Rush last week. The blueliner was recently named to the 2025 All-Star Premier Southeast/Florida team and is 13 games down with 13 points in his first full Premier season.

 

Goaltender: Ryan Kalina, Carolina Jr Hurricanes 

Kalina (‘05/Raleigh, N.C.) went 2-0 last week, making 49 saves on 51 shots for a .961 save percentage. In his first Premier season, the Carolina Jr Hurricanes goaltender is 8-3-0-2 with a .931 save percentage and 1.96 goals against average.

 

Northwest Division 

Forward: Kieran Ganga, Bellingham Blazers

Ganga (‘07/Blaine, Wash.) started a three-game weekend against Rogue Valley with a four-goal game, which he then followed up with a 2-1-3 and an 0-3-3 performance in the next two. All told, he had 10 of his 50 total points for the season, which is a massive jump from his nine points in his first full season in 2023-24. 

 

Defense: Keanu McClanahan, Vernal Oilers

McClanahan (‘05/Summerfield, N.C.) put up a goal and four assists for the Oilers, as they improved to a USPHL Premier record-tying 30 straight victories, and all from the start of the season. The four-year Premier veteran has recently passed the 100-point mark and now has 108 points in 115 games. 

 

Goaltender: Daniel Cleofe, Seattle Totems

Cleofe (‘04/Seattle, Wash.) put up a 24-save shutout as the Totems defeated the Bremerton Sockeyes on Jan. 4. His most recent win was a career-best 10th and he is 26-11-1-1 for his three-year career. 

Selection Process: Divisional statistical leaders are presented to coaches, who are able to vote on the leaders, or nominate and vote on alternate candidates.
