USPHL Premier Playoffs Day 12: March 9, 2025

Islanders Hockey Club 6, South Shore Kings 0 

The Jr. Islanders scored a 6-0 victory against the South Shore Kings. IHC goaltender Jake Henry made 21 saves in his shutout win. Edijs Freimanis and Parker Stepien each had a goal and an assist for the Islanders. The Islanders move on to the New England Division finals next week against the Pics.

 

Fort Wayne Spacemen 4, Chicago Cougars 2

The Spacemen are bound for the #USPHLPremier Midwest Division Championships after they took the 2-0 sweep over the Chicago Cougars, completing it with a 4-2 win on Sunday. Tucker Tone and Alexis Toussaint each had two goals, and Tone also added two assists. In net, Christopher Gingras stopped 27 of 29 shots for the win. Cameron Boville made 38 saves on 42 shots. They will face the winner of the Metro Jets Development Program vs. Chicago Crush series.

 

Bold City Battalion 2, Florida Eels 1

Bold City earned a spot in Monday’s USPHL Premier Florida Division championship game with their 2-1 victory over the Florida Eels on Sunday, avenging an opening round loss to the same Eels team on Friday. With this win, the Battalion advance to face Tampa Bay on Monday, while the Eels season has come to a close.

The Eels struck first and it was not until the 12:32 mark of the second period when the Battalion answered back. Justus Harrison scored the game-tying goal and the GWG came from Mitchell Berens at 8:26 of the third period. Evan Stringer made 34 saves on 35 shots, and Florida’s Russ DeCoste made 22 saves on 24 shots.

Bold City and Tampa drop the puck at 2 p.m. Monday – a Tampa win sends them to Nationals, while a Bold City win would force a final deciding game on Tuesday in this double elimination tournament.

 

P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 6, Rockets Hockey Club 5 (OT)

The No. 7 Jr. Islanders are heading to the division finals against the original No. 8 WBS Knights, after their 6-5 win against the Rockets Hockey Club on Sunday. William LaPrange scored the OT goal to send the Islanders on to the next level. He was assisted by Brett LoGelfo, a #USPHLAllStars Selection who had three assists. Joe Sousa and James Clifford each scored two goals, with Sousa adding one assist. Avery Hite stopped 52 of 57 shots for the win.

 

Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings 7, Northwest Express 2

The Riverkings won 7-2 in Game 3 to advance to the North Division Finals against the Minnesota Squatch next weekend. Felix Ahlstrand scored two goals and added one assist during the big Game 3 win. Noa Diamond, Emil Obstfelder and Jake Bryceland each had 1-2-3 lines as well. Dominic Hite stopped 24 of 26 for the Wisconsin Rapids win.

 

Chicago Crush 6, Metro Jets 2

The Crush won big in their first game against the Metro Jets. They will play Game 2 on Monday at 1:10 p.m. Mac King scored twice, Jacob Rozanski had two assists and Jason Gongol finished with four assists. Patrik Johansen made 34 saves on 36 shots to help the Crush win.
