1. What brought you from Arizona to Kirkland Lake?
I was traded from the Carleton Place Canadians in the CCHL to Kirkland Lake in October. It was a great change for me and put me in a position to get more ice time.
2. In your last year of Junior Hockey, have you focused solely on the goals you have, or have you also taken the time to look around and appreciate the experience?
This season being my last playing junior hockey I have really focused on taking in and appreciating the little things that make the game of hockey and the experience so enjoyable. The moments at the rink and in the room when the boys are all together joking around and telling stories about the night before or what we did over the summer and Christmas break. I’ve learned to appreciate the downs like the long bus rides, tough losses, and the bag skates because these moments are what really bring a group together. The relationships and memories I’ve created are irreplaceable and make the whole experience worth it.
3. As the season winds down, what are your goals with the team for the remainder of the season?
As the season winds down and we inch closer to playoffs our goals as a team are to get better every day in practice and to execute in each game. We are focusing on peaking as we roll into playoffs and pursue a deep run and a championship.
4. As your junior career winds down, what are your goals for the future?
After this season some of my goals are to get bigger and stronger over the off-season in preparation to move up to play and make an impact in NCAA hockey while pursuing my education.
5. If you could speak to a young player who had questions about junior hockey, what is the one piece of advice you would give him?
If I could speak to a young player who had questions about junior hockey the one piece of advice I would give them is to always think about what is best for the team and to put your teammates first on and off the ice.
