Ummmmmm yeah, so we got ourselves a real head scratcher here. The GOJHL Cambridge Winter Hawks announced they are leaving the Ontario Hockey Association.
For a little refresher, its basically because the GOJHL teams have been denied Junior A status, and there is a belief that the OHA conspired or colluded with the Ontario Junior Hockey League and the Canadian Junior Hockey League with the blessing of Hockey Canada to make that denial.
Sooooooo, the Winter Hawks have said they have done an investigation and are sending the results to all the appropriate parties. This report is allegedly the basis for them leaving the OHA.
See with the Winter Hawks leaving the OHA, they are leaving the GOJHL too. Yeah, that looks just a little short sighted if you ask me. See, the Winter Hawks don’t have a league to play in now.
But hey, here’s an idea. How about start a new league? Yeah, like a new league outside of the OHA territory. That’s a brilliant idea! You know, because the CJHL and Hockey Canada are going to be so happy about how the Winter Hawks handled things so far, they are just going to let a new league start up.
Yeah, that sounds like ummmmmm, something that’s never going to happen. Ya think?
At least they have said they absolutely wont join the “G” show. That’s a good thing. So much easier to start a new league on your own. (sarcasm intended)
But hey, it must be going real well, the imaginary new league, and all that positive shit. They are still holding their prospect camp. Yep, prospects just don’t give a shit these days if they know which league they might play in. Nahhhhhh no one cares about something like that.
