Over the last few days, I have posted some things about Charlie Kirk on the TJHN Instagram page. Nothing controversial, just a few things about him, what he stood for, and what his family is now going through after his assasination.
Whether you followed, or believed in Charlie Kirk or not, I am sure every American supports every persons right to free speech. Regardless of what side of the political spectrum you are on, your words and thoughts should be protected, and no one should have to face violence for expressing those words and thoughts.
Some people though have been offended by my actions, and these additions to the Instagram storyline. So offended in fact that they felt the need to direct message me about it. In these profanity laced direct messages, people attempt to take a position of moral or political superiority. These same people complaining about my actions, using the very medium that Charlie Kirk so strongly believed in, their freedom of speech.
I didnt block them or complain, I asked them to stop reading and following if they do not agree with my use of freedom of speech. Their response was more profanity and then to block me.
I dont think I have ever made a political statement on TJHN. Some have taken these Instagram posts as a political statement. Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t. It doesnt matter. A man was killed, and people are clebrating it. This same man who advocated for everyones right to free speech. Their right to celebrate is protected, but those actions can have consequences.
That said, I am unapologetic for my actions. If TJHN loses some followers so be it. If TJHN loses some readers, so be it. A good man was murdered, two children left fatherless, and a wife now a widow. Left or Right, no matter who this happens to, it is a sad statement of where the world is today.
For the record though I did agree with Charlie Kirk on many of his positions. But had the victim been named Obama, Clinton, or any other left wing politician or speaker, I would be saying the same thing here. Violence because someone expresses an opinion different from yours is an admission that you have lost the argument.
