Canadian-American Junior Hockey League (CAJHL) Introduces Mandatory Neck Guards to Enhance Player Safety
Vegreville, AB November 02, 2023 – The Canadian-American Junior Hockey League (CAJHL) is proud to announce a significant step forward in player safety by making neck guards mandatory equipment for all players, effective November 16, 2023. This decision is inanticipation challenges in delivery of protective neck guard equipment from licensed suppliers due to increased demand following the tragic passing of Adam Johnson.
The CAJHL recognizes that hockey is an intense and physical sport, and player safety should always be our top priority. By implementing mandatory neck guards, we aim to reduce the risk of serious injuries and provide a safer playing environment for all our athletes.
The CAJHL will work closely with all teams, players, and equipment manufacturers to ensure a smooth transition to this new policy.
