Canada – US Border Closure Extended Again

The border closure between the United States and Canada has been extended until September 21st at a minimum.

This was an inevitable extension given the state of rapid COVID-19 infections in the United States.

Once again, no United States based players will be going to Canada.

If you are in the United States and waiting for the border to open because the Canadian Coach or your Adviser told you it will open, then you might as well put your gear in the attic because you wont be playing hockey in Canada this year.

Meanwhile, players continue to come to Europe and get on the ice as the season begins in full in two weeks.

Yes. Canadian and American players can get to Europe and play a regular full season when the proper paperwork is processed.
