Carolina Jr. Hurricanes Earn First Elite 2025 USPHL Nationals Berth

The Carolina Jr. Hurricanes are bound for the USPHL Nationals for a third straight year after defeating the Hampton Roads Whalers by a 5-2 score in the USPHL Elite Southeast Division Championship round.

Colin Browning scored the GWG, and additional Carolina goal-scorers included Lucas Tremlett, Morgan Kaminski, Mason Parker and Arsenii Abakumov. Lincoln Burns had two assists. Anthony Trantas made 13 saves in net for the win.

The Jr. Canes won the regular season title as well for the Southeast Division and entered the double elimination tournament as the No. 1 seed. They faced the No. 4 Potomac Patriots in their opener and won 2-0, with veteran goalie Anthony Trantas making 35 saves for the shutout.

In Game 2, in the winners bracket of the double elimination tournament, they defeated the Hampton Roads Whalers, 6-0, with Owen Nasholds posting the shutout in that first game against the Whalers.
