Chicago Steel Draft Pick Cole Borchardt In Critical Condition

On Wednesday about 9:40 p.m. on Hwy. 52 Minnesota High School Hockey standout and USHL Chicago Steel draft pick Cole Borchardt was critically injured with three other teens.

An SUV went out of control on a highway south of Rosemount and rolled over, killing one of four teenage boys from Burnsville and leaving two others in critical condition.

Killed was passenger Ty G. Alyea, 17. Authorities have said Alyea was not wearing a seat belt, nor was passenger Cole A. Borchardt, 18.

Alcohol is not believed to have been a contributing factor to the accident.
