The Barrie Colts have acquired 2006-born centreman Luca Testa from the Brantford Bulldogs in exchange for a conditional fourteenth-round selection in the 2029 OHL Priority Selection and a fifth-round pick in the 2030 OHL Priority Selection.
Testa, a native of Grimsby, ON, was originally selected by the London Knights in the first round, 15th overall, of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection after leading the St. Catharines Falcons to a Sutherland Cup as an underage player. The Bulldogs acquired Testa from London on January 2, 2023, where he went on to spend the next three and a half seasons.
Testa appeared in 152 games with Brantford, recording 67 points (36-31-67). During the 2025-26 season, he posted 26 points (15-11-26) in 50 regular-season games before adding five points (4-1-5) in 15 playoff contests as the Bulldogs advanced to the Eastern Conference Final.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound left-shot centreman brings size, physicality, compete and offensive upside to the Colts’ forward group.
“We’ve liked what Luca has brought to the table for a while now, but it was really his compete level in the playoffs last year that stood out to us,” said Colts General Manager Marty Williamson.

Testa joins the Colts following their run to the OHL Championship Series and will enter his fifth and final OHL season with Barrie.
