Commitment Profile: Cyclones’ Mitchell Headed To Franklin Pierce University

By Northern Cyclones Staff

Northern Cyclones 2022-2023 USPHL Premier National Champion Sam Mitchell has announced his commitment to play at Franklin Pierce University, which competes at the NCAA Division II level in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Mitchell spent the past two seasons on the Cyclones Premier team, putting up a career seven goals and 16 assists in 79 games. Mitchell scored the first goal in Game 2 of the 2022-2023 USPHL Premier finals against the Wilkes Barre-Scranton Knights.

Mitchell is looking forward to his next chapter at Franklin Pierce.

“I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to continue to do what I love and further my education at Franklin Pierce,” he said.

Of his time with the Cyclones, Mitchell said he “couldn’t have asked for anything more these last two years. Without the guidance of Coach [Bill] Weiand and Coach [Fred] Hein, along with the help of the organization, I wouldn’t be in the position I am today. I have improved so much as a player and matured as a young adult with the organization. I am excited to start the next chapter of my journey, and I know that I will always be a part of the Cyclones’ family.”

We wish Mitchell the best of luck in his career at Franklin Pierce and beyond!
