Connellsville Comes Out To Support Their Ice Miners

After a well attended press conference at the Ice Mine in Connellsville PA, a meet and greet session was slated to take place for the local youth hockey association players and parents.

Even on a night when the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins were playing, the new fans of the Ice Miners came out in good numbers.  Billet families, game night volunteers, and young players who are excited for the new role models they will have next year all came out.

“It was exciting to see the support of this community on our first official night in town.”  Said Head Coach Michael Gershon “The local press came out earlier today, and now we have kids, and parents here playing floor hockey and getting involved.”

“We printed up three hundred season ticket order forms for the night, and we had to run more copies before the night ended.  I would say that’s a pretty good indication of how the community will support this team.”  Said Maribeth Hayes Team Owner

“The whole basis for having this franchise here is to provide a sense of community pride, and give our youth association players role models to look up to.  They now have something tangible to aspire to be.” Said Team President Tom Kinsey “The youth hockey association is lending us their logo, and we will have that incorporated into everything we do.”

The Ice Miners are now looking for interns, game night volunteers, and corporate partners.  For more information on these opportunities please email [email protected]
