Dallas Jr Stars Tyler Valentin Commits To Arkansas

The JR Stars announced today that leading scorer Tyler Valentin has committed to play college hockey at the University of Arkansas (ACHA Division I). Valentin led the JR Stars in scoring this past season with 10G, 21A, 31P in 45 games. In addition to his scoring touch, Valentin is feisty and a physical presence on the ice who also posted 123 PIMs.

“Tyler is a player we were thrilled to get when came to us from the USPHL last season. He is lightening quick and is incredibly versatile. He is a great penalty killer and with his hands and shot he was a natural on the powerplay” said JR Stars GM Reggie Hall. Valentin becomes the second JR Stars’ player to commit to powerhouse Arkansas in two years.

Arkansas Head Coach Brian Gallini said, “Tyler is an agile playmaker with good hands. More importantly, he is a high-character, coachable player, which is what we value in this program. We are excited about his potential.” This season Arkansas will be moving from ACHA Division III to ACHA Division I.

The JR Stars wish Tyler great success in the next stage of his career.
