Ryley Morgan (Weyburn) scored twice while Ryan Dugay (Melfort) scored the game winner just over half-way through the 3rd period to lead the Team SJHL Gold to a 4-1 win over Team MJHL Red in the opening game of the showcase in Winnipeg.
Steven Kesslerling (Battlefords) also scored for the SJHL squad that got 28 stops from Josh Kotai (Battlefords) in the win.
Melville Millionaires’ forward Jaxon Martens also earned an Assist in the game.
Steinbach’s Travis Hensrud replied with the only goal for Team MJHL Red, who got 33 saves from OCN Blizzard netminder Chase Hamm in the loss.
