Dineen Cup Playoffs Day 7: March 31, 2025

Utica Jr. Comets 3, Northern Cyclones 2 (OT)

It was so fitting that the all-time leader in NCDC games played, the Utica Jr. Comets‘ Niko Benjamin, scored the overtime winner to give the Jr. Comets new life in a 2-1 series led by the Northern Cyclones. Benjamin also had an assist in the game, and Daniel Urban also had a goal and an assist. Michael Valenta made 33 saves on 35 shots in the win. Logan Abric made 31 saves on 34 shots for the Cyclones. Game 4 is back in Utica on Tuesday, with puck drop set at 1 p.m. EDT. That game tomorrow will mark Niko Benjamin’s milestone 200th NCDC game (regular season and playoffs combined), making him the first player to hit the double century mark in the league.
