#DineenCupFinals: Ogden Mustangs Win Game 1 By 7-3 Score

The Ogden Mustangs flew more than 2,000 miles east and they are playing on a mission to go back happy. They won Game 1 by a 7-3 score after starting out down 2-0 in the first period in Foxboro, Mass.

In the first period, at 7:37, Samuel Chrenka was the recipient of a sweet feed in front from Owen Clifford that gave the Kings a 1-0 lead. They increased that lead quickly to a 2-0 advantage when Aiden Lindley’s shot from the right circle got past Nikita Volsky.

The Mustangs first got on the board at the 11:09 mark of the first period, when Ethan Hall knocked in a sweet feed from behind the net from Casper Conradsson-Kelvgard.

At 3:20 of the second, Turner Richards scored to temporarily even the game, with this five-hole shot, assisted by Corson Maguire.

Wesley Schwarzmiller scored to again put the Kings up (temporarily), bringing it in on a great individual effort, assisted by Owen Clifford and Patrick Bruna.

Jack Bartfield sent it in from the high slot and we had our first Ogden Mustangs lead, at 4-3.

The third period saw three unanswered goals to send the game in Ogden’s direction. A turnover in the Kings’ end led to Samuel Anderson’s goal to give the Ogden Mustangs a two-goal cushion.

The Mustangs went up 6-3 on a sweet breakaway by Brody Simko, and Parker Osborn scored an empty net goal.
