SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Soo Eagles used a well-balanced attack getting at least one point from 15 different skaters as they thumped the Blind River Beavers 10-2 Friday in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action at Pullar Stadium.
The Eagles came out flying in this one grabbing a 3-0 lead before the contest was barely five minutes old on even strength tallies from Reed Gregory and Jake Saxton as well as a shorthanded effort by Gregory.
Blind River got one back before the opening stanza was complete thanks to Alex Dajia’s second at 14:16.
The Beavers came out in the middle frame and pulled to within one a couple minutes in on a Joel Fedeski power play marker.
It was all Sault Ste. Marie after that however as they tacked on three more goals before the session was complete on a pair of markers by Alex DiBacco and a single by Gord Helmuth.
Martin Miloslavich came in to replace Blind River starter Tyler Ryan to begin the third, but the Eagles kept coming and buried four more to finish things off on markers by Brad Hofelich, Nate Harris, Dayton Honkanen and Chris Skinner to complete the offensive onslaught.
Sam Rappaport and Roman Gaudet each doled out three assists for the winners.
Jack Deines made 20 stops to record the win for the Eagles, who won for a third straight outing.
Ryan and Miloslavich faced a combined 49 shots in defeat for Blind River.
