Former OHL Billet Neil Joynt Is Charged With Additional Sex Crime

Neil Joynt, 73, was arrested again on Thursday, May 22nd, after a third alleged sex crime victim came forward. The alleged victim is saying he was sexually assaulted by the retired Kingston gym teacher and OHL billet of 33 years.

Joynt was the longest-serving hockey billet in OHL history for the Kingston Frontenacs.

Police quietly charged Joynt last November with two sexual offences allegedly committed 23 years apart and involving two alleged male victims who were both minors at the time the alleged acts took place.

When the original charges were brought, the court issued a gag order keeping the details about the allegations under seal.

The newest charge involves a third victim alleging an additional sex crime said to have taken place in the 1980’s.  Details of the newest charge are not yet available, but a police source has indicated that this charge is alleged to be a separate instance from the other two charges.

Joynt is due back in court on June 10th.

TJHN will update this story as more information becomes available.
