
The United States Hockey League (USHL) held its 2026 Phase II Draft on Tuesday, May 5, where two players with ties to the NCDC, one from the 2025-26 season and one alumnus, were selected.
In Round 6, forward Troy Hunka was selected by the Waterloo Black Hawks. Hunka spent the 2024-25 season with the Ogden Mustangs, posting 45 points in 58 games during his NCDC season.
In Round 13, forward Ian Tuffin was selected by the Omaha Lancers. Tuffin played in the 2025-26 season with the Northern Cyclones, recording 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 39 games. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native also appeared in three games during the 2024-25 season.
