Getting The Call: Vernal’s Charles Earns Call-Up To Rock Springs Grizzlies

The Rock Springs Grizzlies of the NCDC have called up the Vernal Oilers’ goaltender Nikolas Charles not once, but twice, during this season. and on Dec. 2, he made his debut. He stopped 36 of 40 Pueblo Bulls shots, but had to take a 4-1 loss in the end.

For Vernal, he had played in three games and had a record of 1-1-0-0. The ’04 from Los Angeles is in his first junior season after being signed out of the prestigious San Jose Jr. Sharks organization.

“Niko is a fantastic kid that is loved by his teammates. He’s worked so hard for this opportunity and we are so happy for him. We look forward to watching his continued progression at the NCDC level,” said Oilers GM David Imonti.
