GOJHL And Ancaster Avalanche Mourn The Loss Of Captain Luke Zupan

Luke Zupan was a leader.  He carried himself that way off the ice on game night, and he exemplified the qualities it takes to be a leader on the ice.

The Ancaster Avalance and Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League were shocked to learn this morning that Luke Zupan had passed away.  Multiple sources are reporting that Zupan passed in his sleep at home on Wednesday night.

The talented and charismatic Zupan had started the season playing two games and chipping in for two assists, while staying out of the penalty box.  Zupan was in his third full season with the Avalanche, producing 27 goals and 68 assists along with 252 penalty minutes.

The game in Pelham Friday night, and the Avalanch home game Saturday night have been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.
