Gold Miners Add Defenseman Chartrand

New GoldMiners Coach & GM Ryan Wood is putting the pieces together for the 2017-18 season. The GoldMiners latest addition is 18 yr old, New Liskeard native, defenseman Calvin Chartrand.

GoldMiners fans may be familiar with Calvin, a former New Liskeard Cubs captain, who appeared as an AP, with the Miners in the 2015-2016 season. During his time with the Cubs, the 5’10”, 175 lb, left shooting dman notched 86 pts in 104 games. Last season Calvin patrolled the blueline for the Waterloo Siskins of the GOJHL, where he added 14 pts, including 4 goals in 44 games, along with 45 penalty minutes.

Calvin says it was an easy decision to join KL,” The GoldMiners are a great organization, I was affiliated with them before and playing in the atmosphere in Kirkland is amazing, great fans and a great organization.”

As for working with Coach Wood, Calvin added, “Coach wood seems like a really good guy, very easy to talk to and very approachable towards his players and I’m very excited to get to know him and learn his way to play hockey.”
