Many hundreds of players are now realizing that their season is being delayed or cancelled in the United States and Canada.
More and more players from North America are now heading to Europe where the junior hockey season is in full swing. The NHL continues to send more and more of its top prospects to Europe and now those doors are open for American and Canadian players from all levels.
Regardless of what political side of the fence you are on, there are only a few questions you need to ask yourself.
Do I want to play hockey this year or not?
Am I sure I can play hockey in North America this year?
Am I sure I can play safely in North America year?
Is waiting worth the risk of potentially not playing at all this season?
If you can answer “yes” to all of those questions, then by all means stay home and hope for the best.
If you can not answer “yes” to all of those questions then you better start looking at Europe before the European borders close to North Americans again.
Yes. If you are from the United States you can get to Europe. With proper documentation you can be on your way in a matter of a few days and be playing games this weekend.
Yes. Canadian players can go to Europe without issue at this time.
If you want an opportunity to play, do not waste another day. If you are waiting for the Canada border to open I hope you are not holding your breath because it isn’t going to happen.
If you are located or committed to a team in a State that does not allow the game to be played, what are you doing?
If you are continuing to believe the “don’t worry it will be ok” line being spewed by some coaches, I urge you to begin looking for the truth. The truth is, its going to get worse in North America before it gets better.
Its time to take control of your season before the season has passed you by.
