Detroit Catholic Central is Michigan’s leading high school hockey program, consistently nurturing well-educated and thoroughly prepared athletes who advance to junior and NCAA programs.

Jackson Walsh, a University of Notre Dame for the 2026 – 2027 season has now accepted an offer to play in the North American Hockey League with the expansion Watertown Shamrocks.

The three time State Champion at the Michigan State High School level and an honor roll student, Walsh caught the eye of the Shamrocks coaching staff with his impressive hockey intelligence, unwavering work ethic, while attending the USHL’s Cedar Rapids main camp.

Walsh was honored during the spring to have no less than six tender offers in the NAHL, AJHL, and other Canadian Junior A leagues.

In the end, the Watertown Shamrocks offered a tremendous opportunity that allows Jackson to become part of the team that will establish the culture within the Shamrocks organization. The Michigan High School State Championships will definitely lend some experience to the Shamrocks first NAHL lineup.

As the summer of 2024 progresses, Jackson Walsh is now on a mission to make his rookie NAHL season and impactful one.
