Keegan Ford Leaves Wisconsin Heading Back To Junior Hockey

In a surprise move, freshman defenseman Keegan Ford has decided to leave the University of Wisconsin Hockey Team and return to play junior hockey.

As a freshman Ford has skated in all 12 of Wisconsin’s games this season, posting two assists and nine shots on goal.  While certainly not a prolific scoring pace, a respectable pace for a freshman making the adjustment to NCAA hockey.

Ford is the son of former Badger Pat Ford, who skated for Wisconsin from 1984-88, and who served as an assistant coach for UW from 1994-2002.

Ford has been quoted as saying he simply wasn’t having fun playing on the team and that was the only reason he made the decision.  He is planning on finishing the current semester in school.
