Sam Dickinson is the new London Knights record-holder for single season points by a defenceman with 88 (27-61–88), surpassing the prior mark held by Evan Bouchard (2017-18) and Rick Corriveau (1990-91).
Dickinson sets the new benchmark following a scoring review from a game against the Owen Sound Attack on February 28th where Dickinson was awarded with a secondary assist by the Ontario Hockey League.
Acquired by the London Knights from the Niagara IceDogs after he was the fourth overall pick of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, Dickinson has gone on to be named to the OHL’s first all-rookie team in 2022-23 and a second team all-star in 2023-24 while winning an OHL championship. He was selected by the San Jose Sharks with the 11th overall pick of the 2024 NHL Draft.
An 18-year-old from Toronto, Dickinson has put up 54 goals, 127 assists and 181 points over his 184-game regular season career with the Knights. He’s also recorded 21 points (8-13–21) over 39 career games in the OHL Playoffs.
Dickinson and the Knights, who have captured their second straight Hamilton Spectator Trophy, round out the regular season with games against Kitchener, Windsor and Erie this week.
