Lakers 4th, North Stars 11th in CJHL winning percentage

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Of the 128 teams that comprise the Canadian Junior Hockey League, the two front runners in the Superior International Junior Hockey League sit among the elite in terms of winning percentage.

The SIJHL-leading Fort Frances Lakers currently boast the fourth best win mark in the entire CJHL at .840 while the second place North Stars sit 11th overall at .760.

Fort Frances and Thunder Bay have both played some tremendous hockey since the 2014 portion of the SIJHL schedule began.

In the first seven weeks of the New Year each team has skated in 20 games with the Lakers having gone 15-3-2-0 under the guidance of three-time SIJHL coach of the year Wayne Strachan.

Thunder Bay meanwhile has been equally as impressive for first-year bench boss Jeremy Adduono as his side has posted a solid record of 16-3-0-1 in that span.

The top three CJHL clubs in winning percentage are the Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL), Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL) and Selkirk Steelers (MJHL) at .882, .880 and .852 respectively.

The following are the top 20 winning percentage leaders in the CJHL:
