The Minnesota Junior Hockey League (MnJHL) has announced that its Board of Directors has approved the relocation of the Wisconsin Rampage membership to Crystal Lake, Illinois for the 2014-15 season. The Rampage, who was based out of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin has played in the MnJHL since the 2012-2013 season. The relocation was also approved by USA Hockey Junior Council this month.
“Today’s announcement represents the culmination of many hours of hard work with a dedicated group of local guys sharing a common vision of promoting hockey at all levels in northwest Illinois. Our organization’s ultimate goal is to establish a successful high-level Tier III hockey program for the community to enjoy for many years to come. Hopefully this will be the catalyst to begin to utilize the Crystal Ice House to its full potential,” The team will finally have a dedicated locker room for the first time.
The move will keep the team in the Great Lakes Division and further expand the MnJHL footprint to now include the state of Illinois, in addition to Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin, which make up the other states in the league. “This move will further enhance the MnJHL and bring value to the league. This relocation to northwest Illinois provides hockey players an ideal platform and opportunity to develop and great entertainment for local fans,” “The relocation is a very positive move for Tier III junior hockey in the area and will provide one of the best Tier III junior hockey option for northwest Illinois players.
The team will play all of its home games out of the Crystal Ice House (CIH). CIH has three sheets of ice and seating capacity for over 350 on one sheet. The pro shop will be able to meet all visiting team requirements and the staff of the CIH is second to none.
Over the next several months the team will be renamed and given new a color scheme aligning it with the Yellowjackets, the local youth organization that plays at the Crystal Ice House. 2
Our summer skills/conditioning sessions will be at the Crystal Ice House and Superior Health and Fitness. On ice skills will take place on Mondays starting on June 2 at 8:20 pm to 9:50 pm. Then conditioning will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Superior Health and Fitness from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm each night. Please go to our website at www.wisconsinrampage.com
