Muskegon Lumberjacks Sold Pending USHL Approval

As first reported by TJHN, the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the United States Hockey League are in the process of being sold.  This comes on the heals of the current owners bankruptcy filing in New York State less than two years after purchasing the franchise.

The purchaser is WC Hockey LLC.  Signed on as a Member of the LLC is as reported by TJHN, is Dan Israel, a principal in ASI Paving based in the Detroit area.

WC Hockey LLC filed its official paperwork with the State of Michigan on June 26, 2015.  That filing was made by Attorney Steven Wright based out of Shelby Township.

While an exact purchase price has not be disclosed publicly, sources are informing TJHN that the sellers are taking a loss on their initial purchase that is in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A new arena lease was approved last night by the City of Muskegon to keep the team in LC Walker Arena.  The question remaining for LC Walker Arena now, is who will manage the building?  The City is said to be talking to a proposed management team that would oversee operations and booking additional events and users.

TJHN will update this story as more information becomes available.
