The regular season hasn’t begun yet for the new Dallas Jr Stars franchise and already their players are benefiting from joining the new NA3HL club.
Ben Owen, a 93 defenseman from Plano Texas had offers from several teams in multiple leagues this summer but chose the new Dallas Jr Stars franchise. Owen believed that the management of the NA3HL Stars franchise would be best suited to identify NAHL opportunities and aggressively work to get him a chance to play at that level.
Owen sure didn’t have to wait long to get confirmation that his choice of team was the right one.
On Thursday the rugged defenseman got the call to join the NAHL’s Lonestar Brahmas for their weekend series in Corpus. The Brahmas are short on defenseman for the weekend and looked to the Jr Stars for help.
Owen will be in the lineup for both Friday and Saturday night’s contests at the American Bank Center Arena in South Texas.
With six NAHL franchises located in the State of Texas, the Dallas Junior Stars and the McKinney Warriors NA3HL expansion franchises are centrally located for all NAHL teams to scout and use for call up purposes.
Committed to developing and moving players on to the next level the Dallas Junior Stars have put their money where their mouths are before the season has even started.
