NAHL Teams On The Move?

The North American Hockey League is losing its grip on the State of Michigan, but it is gaining ground in the hockey rich region of the Eastern United States.

On the move this season without a specific destination yet, will be the Michigan Warriors.  Multiple sources are reporting a sale and relocation out east is eminent.

Multiple sources are confirming that NAHL representatives have recently made visits to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston Maine, and the home of the Brooklyn Aviators in New York.  Other sources are reporting consideration being given to a return to Jamestown New York.

The Lewiston Maine location has been eyed by the NAHL for several years as a target for eastern expansion after the QMJHL left the arena without a main tenant.

There is also a relationship between the NAHL, and Jim Cain President and Owner Firland Management who own the Colisee.  Cain has developed that relationship over the last few years as his company managed the arena in Flint Michigan, the home of the NAHL Michigan Warriors, who just happen to be one of the teams on the move.

It is clear the NAHL desires eastern expansion, the question is not “if” but “when” it will happen.  TJHN will update this story as more information becomes available.
