The Soo Eagles have become a cornerstone in the building of Northern Michigan hockey development in the Upper Peninsula and the Northern Lower Peninsula. Credit Ron Lavin and Bruno Bragagnolo for their efforts as well as one of the best volunteer organizations in North America.
While rumors have been swirling for months about the Soo Eagles as they relate to the Michigan Warriors departure from Flint Michigan at the end of the season, those rumors should be put to rest.
While the Warriors future has yet to be determined, although rumors persist with as many as three potential buyers in three separate locations, that situation will have no impact on the Eagles.
Yesterday, Bruno gave me a call to put all of those rumors to rest.
Not only are the Soo Eagles staying in the NAHL, but they are preparing to sign a new lease extension. They are not moving to a new location, and they are certainly not switching to a different league.
There are those out there in other leagues, with ulterior motives that would like to keep those rumors alive, and those that would actually try to sew seeds of doubt within local supporters, we hope that this information puts an end to that rumor mongering.
While other NAHL franchise’s may have new ownership or new locations in the 2015-2016 season, the Soo Eagles will continue to call Pullar Stadium home.
