NCDC 2023-24 New England Division Players Of The Week

Week of March 13, 2024

Games of March 1-10, 2024

Summaries by Joshua Boyd / NCDCHockey.com

Forward: Kotaro Murase, South Shore Kings

The second-year King, an ‘03 from Japan, was a key player in the Kings’ continuing battle for the top spot in the New England Division. Since the start of March, Murase has registered three goals and added three assists for six points in four games. He currently leads the Kings in points with 53 points in 50 games.

Defense: Nick Dimatos, Utica Jr. Comets

The Jr. Comets have had a strong year and are bound for the playoffs after missing the postseason mark in 2023. A two-year heart-and-soul player for the Jr. Comets, Dimatos (‘03/Princeton, N.J.) put up four goals and added two assists for six points to start March. His 23:49 of ice time also led the team, as did his 46 takeaways in four games. Dimatos has 35 points in 50 games this season.

Goaltender: Logan Abric, Northern Cyclones

Abric (‘04/Hayward, Wis.) played huge for the Cyclones as they clinched a spot in the New England Division 4v5 play-in game. During his past two games, he played 118 minutes and stopped 87 of 91 shots, with the vast majority of those coming in a 58-save shutout on March 9, setting a new record for most saves in an NCDC regular season shutout. He beat the previous record of 57 saves set by former Rockets Hockey Club goaltender Tucker Tynan back on Oct. 14, 2018.

Abric is 8-9-4-1 with a .916 save percentage this year.

Rookie*: Jack DesRuisseaux, South Shore Kings

DesRuisseaux, a Sacred Heart University commit, was terrific for the Kings in posting a pair of goals and three assists for five points. The ‘04 from Manchester, N.H., has posted seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in his 21 games with the Kings since joining in early January.

* = ’04 or younger with 10 or fewer prior season Tier II games
