Koenig Family Head Coach of Dartmouth Men’s Hockey, Reid Cashman announced that Steven Townley and Sean Chisholm will serve as captains for the 2024-25 season.

Chisholm served as captain in 2023-24 while Townley wore an ‘A’ last season as a junior. Chisholm is the 123rd captain in program history while Townley is the 124th.

Cashman spoke very highly of each Chisholm and Townley.

“I am proud to announce Sean Chisholm and Steven Townley as our 24-25 captains. Sean will be our captain for the second straight year.  Sean is someone who leads by his actions.   He is consistent in his effort, attitude and selflessness every day.

“Steven is a local kid who grew up loving Dartmouth hockey.  We are so proud to announce him as a captain.  Steven is everything we could ask for in a Dartmouth student-athlete.”

“Our team is in great hands with Sean and Steven at the helm.”

Townley has suited up in 86 games since joining the team in 2021-22. In his career he has 16 points on six goals and 10 assists. Last season he won 230 faceoffs while having a 51.9 winning percentage while also blocking 23 shots. Townley also won the Class of 1948 Scholar-Athlete Award, awarded annually to one male and one female athlete from the junior class.

Chisholm enters his senior season in 2024-25 and has played in 89 career games for the Big Green. Over the last three seasons he has totaled 24 goals while adding 30 assists. The Caledonia, Ont. native finished the season with a team best +9 rating.

The Big Green open the 2024-25 regular season on Friday, Nov. 1 as they travel to Harvard for an ECAC matchup with the Crimson. Dartmouth welcomes Stonehill to Thompson Arena on Sunday Nov. 3 for its home opener.  Season tickets for all 15 Dartmouth home games are on sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
