A Total Of 119 NCDC Alumni Made The 2025 Division III Men’s National Tournament

The NCDC congratulates its 13 alumni who helped Hobart College win the 2025 NCAA Division III Men’s National Championship, which was the third in a row for the Statesmen. These 13 former NCDC players were among 119 fellow alumni who competed in the 14-team 2025 Division III National Tournament. Below are brief bios of the 13 National Champions, followed by a list of all 120 NCDC Alumni in the D-III Nationals this year.
Luke Aquaro
Jersey Hitmen 2020-21
Aquaro, a Co-Captain of the Statesmen, played the 2020-21 season with the Hitmen, scoring 51 points in 44 games. He moved on to Hobart the next season and has certainly enjoyed being part of all three championship teams. He has been the NEHC Rookie of the Year, NEHC Player Of The Year, and he was part of this year’s Division III All-Tournament Team. He finishes his career with 134 points in 111 career games at Hobart, and he was an NEHC First Team Selection this year.
Cooper Swift
Jersey Hitmen 2019-20
Swift joined the Hitmen for 33 games in 2019-20, scoring 12 points from the blueline. After one more junior season, he would move on to Hobart in 2021-22, and this year, he earned All-USCHO Honorable Mention. He had 55 points in 102 career games at Hobart, finishing as a Second Team All-NEHC Selection.
Tanner Daniels
New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs 2019-21
Daniels scored 71 points in 82 games over two seasons with the former New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs. After one further junior season, he joined the Statesmen in 2022-23, a year in which he was selected to the NEHC All-Tournament Team. Daniels led the team in scoring this year with 40 points in 31 games, and he has 80 points in 88 career NCAA games. He was named the New England Hockey Conference Player Of The Year for 2024-25.
Damon Beaver
Jersey Hitmen 2020-21
Beaver played in net for 26 games for the Hitmen during their 2020-21 Dineen Cup season, winning 19 games and posting a .939 save percentage. With the National Championship game, Beaver became Hobart’s all-time leader in goaltender wins with 53. He was the 2022-23 NEHC Rookie Of The Year and 2024-25 Goaltender Of The Year and a First Team All-NEHC selection.
Shane Shell
Rockets Hockey Club/Boston Bandits 2018-21
Shell played his first two NCDC seasons with the former Bandits, and then joined the Rockets Hockey Club – for which he played Midget hockey – in 2020-21. He finished with exactly 100 regular season points in 126 NCDC games. He stands with 82 points in 103 career NCAA games. Shell was a Third Team All-NEHC selection here in 2024-25.
Conor Lally
Boston Advantage 2021-23
Lally scored 63 points in 91 games for the former Advantage, and just completed his second season with Hobart. He has produced 36 points in 59 games. Lally earned himself Third Tam All-NEHC honors.
Brandon Sacchetti
Jersey Hitmen (2022-23)
Sacchetti joined the Hitmen in his second junior season, playing in 19 games and scoring 28 points after joining from the Alberta Junior League. He has registered 23 points in 26 career games at Hobart.
Tamas Toth
Connecticut Jr. Rangers 2022-23
Toth played with the Jr. Rangers, racking up 43 points in 43 regular season games and was a great example of USPHL Advancement In Action, coming up from the USPHL Premier one season prior. He just completed his first season with Hobart. He has represented his native Hungary eight times in international tournaments and events. He put up 10 points in his first 19 NCAA games this year.
Easton Ryan
Boston Junior Bruins 2021-23
Ryan joined the Junior Bruins in 2021-22 and was an offensive threat right away, eventually posting 47 points in 48 games. He improved to 57 points in 50 games as a team Captain in 2022-23. He broke the 100-point mark with 104 points in 98 regular season games. After one further junior season, he joined Hobart College this year as a freshman. He scored nine points in 20 games with Hobart.
Nicholas Dimatos
Utica Jr. Comets 2022-24
Dimatos joined the Jr. Comets for his first year in Utica in 2022-23, and he went on to score 60 points in 99 regular season games. He has just completed his first season with the Statesmen, scoring eight points in his first 19 NCAA games.
Ryan Remick
Jersey Hitmen 2021-22
Another first-year Statesman, Remick played in 20 games with the Hitmen, part of a three-year junior career. He scored seven points in 11 NCAA games as a freshman this year.
Heikki Virtanen
P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 2022-24
Virtanen first joined the Jr. Islanders in 2022-23, and he scored 89 points in 96 games, and he added 20 points in 18 playoff games. He helped the Jr. Islanders win the 2023 Dineen Cup. The 2024-25 season was his first with Hobart, playing in eight games and registering two assists.
Connor Shibley
Jersey Hitmen, 2023-24
Shibley played in two games during the Hitmen’s 2023-24 season and joined Hobart as a first-year player.
