NCDC Players Of The Week: Atlantic Division

Forward: Samuel Ciappa, Mercer Chiefs

Ciappa (‘09/Baldwinsville, N.Y.) was a key player for the Mercer Chiefs three games this week, posting four goals and four assists. He scored the final goal against the Jersey Hitmen on Nov. 20 and against the Rockets on Nov. 24. In his first season with the Chiefs, Ciappa has 24 points across nine goals and 15 assists, including one game winning goal. 

 

Defense: Brody Finnegan, Mercer Chiefs

Finnegan (‘05/Fort Bragg, N.C.) recorded two goals and one assist over three games with the Mercer Chiefs this week. He scored the game winning goal against the Rockets on Nov. 24, helping secure the team’s third of three wins over the last several days. Finnegan has played 18 games in his first NCDC season, recording two goals and nine assists thus far.

 

Goaltender: Jakub Kral, Connecticut Jr. Rangers

Kral (‘04/Czechia) had a .968 save percentage across his two games played with the Connecticut Jr. Rangers this week, with 92 saves on 95 shots. In the team’s win against the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders on Nov. 24, he saved 49 of 50 shots. Kral is 2-2-0-0 in his first NCDC season with a .962 save percentage.

 

Rookie: Ryan Shea, Jersey Hitmen

Shea (‘06/Norwell, Mass.) is making his mark in his rookie season with the Jersey Hitmen. The team went 2-1 this week, with Shea posting two goals and three assists against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights on Nov. 23. Shea’s contributions helped the team win 10-2, and they went on to win their second matchup against the Knights the next day, 5-2. Shea has registered 15 points in his 20 games played this season, with seven goals and eight assists.
