NCDC Players Of The Week: Atlantic Division

Games of Oct. 1-7, 2024

 

Forward: William Filteau, Mercer Chiefs

Filteau (‘05/Napierville, Que.) had a breakout game on Oct. 5 against the Connecticut Jr. Rangers, putting up the hat trick and adding an assist to improve to five points in his first four NCDC games. 

 

Defense: Wilson Farrow, Jersey Hitmen

Farrow (‘04/Sudbury, Ont.) returns to this honor after another huge week for the Hitmen. He assisted on the GWG’s in both the Hitmen’s 2-1 over P.A.L. and their 1-0 win over West Chester. He leads all NCDC defensemen in scoring with a 1-8-9 line. 

 

Goaltender: Dominick Gatto, Mercer Chiefs 

A returning player who was a standout in the NCDC 2024 All-Star game, Gatto (‘05/St. Charles, Ill.) was outstanding not once but twice on Oct. 4 and 5 for the Chiefs. In the first game, he stopped 42 of 44 Connecticut shots, and then went on to shut out the Jr. Rangers at home with 22 saves. He stands at 2-2-0-0 on the season with a .934 save percentage. 

 

Rookie: Jack Kavetsky, Jersey Hitmen 

In Saturday’s 1-0 victory against the new West Chester Wolves, the junior rookie Kavetsky (‘06/Westminster, Calif.) came out and was perfect, with 27 saves on 27 shots to earn a shutout in his junior debut. 

 

Honorable Mention 

Defense: Jack Terhaar, Mercer Chiefs

Goaltender: Emmanuel Pepin, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 

Rookie: Derek Tremblay, Jersey Hitmen

 

Selection Process: Team coaches first nominate players, the League sends back finalists, and coaches are then able to further vote on finalists or nominate other players.
