NCDC Players Of The Week: Atlantic Division

Week of Nov. 7, 2024

Games of Oct. 29-Nov. 4, 2024

Forward: Owen Norman, West Chester Wolves

Norman (‘05/Oro-Medonte, Ont.) is a fantastic example of USPHL Advancement In Action, having gone from the USPHL Elite to the USPHL Premier to the NCDC. And now, he’s enjoying success with the Wolves, putting up two goals and two assists for four points in three games, including a win against the Jersey Hitmen in which he assisted on the OT winner.

Defense: Michael English, P.A.L. Jr. Islanders

Third-year Jr. Islander English (‘04/Smithtown, N.Y.) scored a goal and added two assists for three points in two games as they earned a win and a point from an OT loss. English’s seven points this season are already a career high.

Goaltender: Max Varner, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights

Varner (‘05/Buffalo, Minn.) stopped 45 of the 46 shots he faced against the Connecticut Jr. Rangers on Nov. 3 for his second win of the season. Varner is a junior rookie this season out of Buffalo High School.

Rookie: Justin Thibault, Mercer Chiefs

Thibault (‘08/Levis, Que.) continues to roll, with his point streak now extending to seven games and counting. Most recently, he put up two goals – including the GWG against the West Chester Wolves on Nov. 2 – and an assist for three points on Nov. 1 and 2. He has goals in six straight games plus four assists for 10 points during the streak. He joined this year from the Quebec AAA league’s Levis Chevaliers.

Selection Process: Team coaches first nominate players, the League sends back finalists, and coaches are then able to further vote on finalists or nominate other players.
