NCDC Players Of The Week: Mountain Division

Week of Nov. 12, 2024

Games of Nov. 5-11, 2024

Forward: Andrew Schmidt, Idaho Falls Spud Kings

During a three-point weekend for the Spud Kings against the Utah Outliers, the ‘05 from Chicago put together a 3-2-5 line to get in on the majority of the Spuds’ nine goals over the weekend. Schmidt put up two goals, including the GWG, in the team’s 6-1 win over Utah on Nov. 9. He currently has 18 points in 15 games this season.

Defense: Ryker Sabo, Rock Springs Grizzlies

Sabo (‘05/Rosemount, Minn.) helped the Grizzlies gather three points off a win and an OT loss during the weekend, and not with points but more along the lines of stand-up defense. He came out of the weekend against the Casper Warbirds with a +3 rating.

Goaltender: Ryan Henry, Casper Warbirds

The second-year Warbirds goalie Henry (‘04/Wayne, N.J.) was outstanding, even despite taking an OT loss. He stopped 98 of 105 shots for a .933 save percentage on the weekend. He has improved his season save percentage to .928 and his 34-game career average is a very impressive .921.

Rookie: Jackson Walsh, Ogden Mustangs

The University of Notre Dame recruit Walsh (‘05/Northville, Mich.) was in a generous mood all weekend for the Mustangs, who won two of their three games in Pueblo. He dished out six assists over the course of the series, including five on Nov. 8, including on Tom Jacques’ game-winner. He improved his season total to 19 points in 15 games.
