Thunder Hockey Club 4, Boston Dogs 1

The Thunder Hockey Club scored four goals throughout the game, with Mason Manderfield (’06/Houghton, Mich.), Roger Davis (’04/Exeter, N.H.), William Michetti (’05/Brossard, Que.), and Cooper Caby (’05/Denver, Colo.) each finding the back of the net. In net, Prestyn Carter (’04/Macomb, Mich.) got the win with 25 saves on 26 shots.

 

Utica Jr. Comets 5, Rockets Hockey Club 3

The Rockets Hockey Club came out hot with three goals in the first two periods, including two from Timotej Varga (’05/Presov, Slovakia). The Utica Jr. Comets responded with four straight goals in the second and third for the win. Cody Pisarczyk (’04/Calgary, Alb.) scored a goal and an assist. Dylan Eliason (’04/Northville, Mich.) made 28 saves on 31 shots.

 

Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights 4, Worcester Railers JHC 3

The Knights secured a strong win over the Railers, fueled by a dominant third period. In the third period, the Knights surged ahead with goals from Frankie Hipp (’04/Boalsburg, Pa.), who scored twice in the game. Matthew Chirstman (’05/Wyomissing, Pa.) had two assists. Max Varner (’05/Buffalo, Minn.) stopped 27 of 30 shots for the victory.

 

South Shore Kings 4, Jersey Hitmen 3

The South Shore Kings edged out the Jersey Hitmen in a tightly contested matchup. The game was back and forth with neither team ever holding more than a one-goal lead, including at the end. The Kings finished with four one-goal leads, three of which were answered by Jersey. Caden Wells (’05/Phoenix, Ariz.) scored the game-winner at 6:43 of the third, and Zachary Walsh (’05/Lake View, N.Y.) finished with two assists. Beau Lane (’04/Pembroke, Mass.) made 30 saves on 33 shots.

 

Islanders Hockey Club 2, West Chester Wolves 1

The Islanders Hockey Club secured a close win against the Wolves, with newcomer Devin Bard (’05/Southborough, Mass.) scoring the GWG in the third period. Braxton Castagno (’04/Tyngsboro, Mass.) made 24 saves on 25 shots for the win. He also stopped a penalty shot by Nico Pasquale (’05/Chicago, Ill.)

 

Mercer Chiefs 7, Boston Jr. Rangers 1

Mercer Chiefs defeated the Boston Jr. Rangers thanks in part to an explosive second period. They scored five goals in the second period. Samuel Ciappa (’05/Baldwinsville, N.Y.) was a leader with a goal and four assists. Justin Thibault (’08/Levis, Que.) and Tyler Agnew (’04/Kalamazoo, Mich.) each posted a 1-2-3 line. Cole Werthman (’05/Levittown, Pa.) came up huge for the Chiefs with 46 saves on 47 shots.

 

P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 7, Seacoast Spartans 3

P.A.L. Junior Islanders picked up the win against the Seacoast Spartans with strong offensive performances especially from Ivan Zelenov (’06/Moskva, Russia) with two goals and one assist and Carson Nickulas (’04/Barnstable, Mass.) with three assists. Nikita Kluev (’07/Heidelberg, Germany) stopped 22 of the 25 shots he faced.

 

Casper Warbirds 5, Rock Springs Grizzlies 2

The Casper Warbirds rallied past the Rock Springs Grizzlies with dominant third period, in which they scored four unanswered goals. Colin Hazlett (’05/Chicago, Ill.) scored the GWG in the second period, and Jeffrey Fillion had a strong 38-save performance on the 40 shots he faced. Micahlind Pelletier (’04/Gilbert, Ariz.) registered three assists as well for Casper.

 

Pueblo Bulls 7, Idaho Falls Spud Kings 2

Matsvei Marshchanok (’05/Minsk, Belarus) scored four goals and adding one assist, while his twin brother Siamion Marshchanok had the opposite line of a goal and four assists. Together they pushed the Bulls to a dominant win over the Mountain Division-leading Spud Kings. In the Bulls net, Noel Friedman (’05/Denver, Colo.) stopped 42 of 44 shots.

 

Ogden Mustangs 5, Utah Outliers 3

The Mustangs picked up a big win in their historic Salt Lake regional rivalry series, pushed along by two goals from Brody Simko (’04/Butler, Pa.) and three assists from Roman Cherniak (’04/Desert Blume, Alb.) Dilans Birkans (’06/Ilskile, Latvia) made 19 saves on 22 shots for the win.
