South Shore Kings 6, Utica Jr. Comets 2

The Kings moved to within one win of their all-time best points streak by improving to 7-0-0-1 on the season so far. Tyler Maxner had two goals, Nate Stachowiak had a goal and an assist, and Culin Wilson, Kotaro Murase and Jason Zuccari each had two assists for the Kings. Ryan Keyes made 35 saves on 37 shots for the win. The same two teams play at 7 p.m. Saturday night.

 

P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 5, Connecticut Jr. Rangers 2

The Jr. Islanders got three-point games from three veterans of their 2023 Dineen Cup Championship team – Heikki Virtanen (2-1-3), Carter Hanrahan (1-2-3) and Captain Ty Broad (0-3-3). Nick Bevilacqua made 36 saves on 38 shots, and Connecticut’s Primo Baldassare had a strong performance with 40 saves on 44 shots. The same teams play at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

 

Utah Outliers 3, Idaho Falls Spud Kings 2 (OT)

David Utkin registered his third GWG of the season on his seventh overall goal when he scored at 4:58 (aka two seconds left) in overtime. Griffin Davis stopped 32 of 34 shots in net for the win. The Outliers face the undefeated (5-0) Provo Predators at 7:30 p.m.

 

Pueblo Bulls 6, Rock Springs Grizzlies 5 (OT) 

Nate Farrell scored the overtime goal and scored twice, and Hunter Hayes also had two goals in the 6-5 OT win as the Bulls came back to win after being down 5-3 in the third period. Jack Hanson had a 1-2-3 line, while Rock Springs’ Rex Baren posted three assists.

 

Provo Predators 3, Ogden Mustangs 2 (SO) 

Jonatan Raatikainen scored in regulation and in the shootout and Caleb Bendel and Lucca Ori also scored for the Predators in a seven-round shootout, with Ori’s goal standing as the winner. Teddie Hember scored a goal and assist for Ogden in regulation. Both Ogden’s Vlad Bryzgalov and Provo’s Michael Polston stopped 26 of 28 in 65 minutes of action, and Polston stopped five of seven in the shootout victory.
